Alrightly well I just moved to a new city and im in temporary housing for a month while I look for a place. I run a private server for FTB for a few friends off my comp and I cannot get the server running since I have moved. I basically live in a dorm right now and have an ethernet jack in the wall that I plug into. I then run from the wall to my router and then to my computers and such. I have the 25565 port forwarded on the router and firewalls turned off.

At my last place I could connect to my server by just adding it to the server list or using the 127.0.0.1 direct connect. Now I can only connect using 127.0.0.1 direct connect. trying to connect using my external ip results in a connection refused: connect. When a friend tries to connect he gets the connection timeout: connect message.

I have tried searching for a few days on Google to fix the problem but I can't seem solve it. My assumption is there is an industrial router or switch providing the internet to all the dorm rooms and I cannot forward the port on that router and that is what is blocking anyone from joining. I am wondering if that is indeed the problem, or if it is something else, and if there is any solution to what is going on.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Edit: I tried downloading a new server from this site and started it up and got these fun errors when I tried to use the direct connect 127.0.0.1

This error came up when I tried to move my world folder into the new server folder and when I let the new server generate a new world. The game also crashed when first generating both times. Then the next time I try to direct connect the above errors occur.

I checked to make sure that I can still connect to my old server with the world and its fine. So now I am very confused on what is going on.

the picture shows that there are ID's mismatches or a missing mod between your client and the server , try checking if the download was alright and try to redownload everything again .

So i redownloaded both the server and the modpack and still have the same error. The game crashed trying to load the world and then when I try the second time the above error occurs. I have no idea if this is related in anyway to the real problem that I am having that is described in the first post. Still looking for a solution
