Summary of the problem Save doesn't show on list

Pack Version

What is the bug? Seconds after loading my save my computer rebooted suddenly. After the reboot restarted Minecraft and my save no longer shows on the list even though the folder is there and appears to have all the usual files in it.

Mod & Version Direwolf20 1.12.2 v1.7.1

Is it repeatable? Don't know. It broke the save so I can't try.

Hi there

Unfortunately, when something like this happens it's highly unlikely that the files can be recovered. Your save is more than likely been corrupted. I suggest that you revert to a backup - check the backups folder in the instance directory. I see that you're running Microsoft Windows 10. Do you have File History enabled? (Press the Windows key. Then type Backup and click the Backup Setting option that appears. https://ss.blamesnow.co.uk/2018/01/1516719941-2c468505.png You should see something like this. If it's turned on then you might be able to recover the directory using File History. I will provide further instructions if you need them to do this.

Thanks.

That's what I ended up doing. What caused it worries me, however. My system is rock stable and never has these sorts of incidents. The fact that it happened just as I loaded up my save makes me wonder if some sort of java issue caused the reboot. No real way to find out, though. I'll see if anything else happens. Thanks for the reply.

I will admit that sort of abstract behaviour is worrying I too, however, wouldn't begin to know where something like that would originate or how you'd find out anything about it. Though, I find it highly unlikely that Java/Minecraft was the cause of it. Perhaps a memory or disk space issue but the JVM itself shouldn't be able to cause that big of a problem.
