Routers and Furnaces wasting fuel

I have a bank of 12 Furnaces fed with wood by a Router. Another router pulls output stacks and outputs into an Item Tesseract. A third Router does the same and feeds a fourth which inserts into the bottom sides (refuelling them with charcoal).

The Furnaces all run constantly, the system seems to pull a full stack from one, and also pulls a single output from all the others, which triggers them all to burn, and the instant they finish, they start again.

Any ideas how I can prevent this wasteful loop? I think it is causing every charcoal produced to cost one charcoal to produce. Maybe I should feed planks into the input instead of charcoal.

I'm trying to work out how to get planks into the furnaces. Router, fed by what... BC pipes overflow, but can pull from autocrafting table. RP Filter needs pulsing, and I'm not sure if it can pull from the table... I suspect not, but I suppose it's worth trying...
 
Well, I didn't really fully understand your first problem maybe if you send a picture, it will help but the planks issue is easy to fix. Take a look at this simple build.

The redpower machine is called the ejector, basically it works the same as the relay but it doesn't need a pulse so once it receives items, it will automatically insert in the RP2 tubes.
 
I didnt understand the problem as well, but if you add a thoroughness upgrade to the router that feeds stuff to be burned by the furnaces, it's gonna try to fill the furnace the most it can before it moves to the next furnace. That way, instead of putting one bock in each furnace, causing them all to activate, it's gonna try to use the minimum amount of furnaces. I think that is going to solve your problem...

Ooh, I think Thoroughness might be the answer - not on the one that feeds them, but on the ones that extract charcoal.
