Router unable to extract from Thermal Expansion machines

I've been trying to replace a good number of my buildcraft pipe setup with routers, however, I'm having trouble getting the router to extract from machines such as the sawmill or pulveriser. I tried setting the outputs on the machine to correspond to the direction the router was seeking, but it just seems to ignore everything but the input slot.

red side doesnt work well with rp2-like machines, try setting it grey (still open but grey).
