In honor of the great Robin Williams, one of the inspirations to my comedy. Some of my memories.

My favorite Robin Williams movies:
1. Jumanji
2. Dead poets society
3. Hook
4. Aladdin
5. Good morning Vietnam
I'm going to be marathoning those tomorrow. I recommend you do the same.

You know it's difficult for me to put into words what to say about someone who you grew up with but you never knew personally.

I think anyone who has the nerve to try and make me laugh is alright in my books and I've said this to many people now, regardless of the context, regardless of the paycheck or the medium and regardless if it's just me or the entire world. I think a great comic who can take the bad of society, it's history and the people in it and turn it into something that can make people smile is a great person and I'll always respect someone who can do something like that regardless of their intentions or their commission.

It's heartbreaking to know he's gone. It's one of those moments that never occur to you, one of the people who you never really think about, especially passing away. Robin Williams has a hand in my albeit warped sense of humor and now that's gone I remember why. Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin, Good Will Hunting, Hook, so much stand-up, they all have a part of it and it'll continue to and should I adopt a child with Mrs. Succubism, I'll be showing those movies to my child too so that maybe he can have a hand in theirs too.

That's all I got to say right now.

I can't really think of any pictures or gifs to show in this thread, so I'll leave you this. It's small, simple, but makes me beam.

Later, Rob.

what I feel really sad about is that he most probably committed suicide after suffering from depression.
it's hard to know that someone who's loved by so many people and has brought so much laughter to them, has to die a death like this.
his situation is probably best described by this image

as someone who also suffers from depression and has spend ages on that one question, it's very hard to keep going.
I just hope he's at a better place now and has finally put those thoughts to rest

Rest in Peace and in the knowledge that your legacy will be passed on for eternity. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

It's just a terrible fact of life - sometimes, the people who seem the kindest, funniest, happiest - they can be so depressed on the inside.

It's a common coping mechanism to outwardly overcompensate for ones mood when depressed, it can be quite deceptive to those who aren't trained to recognize depression. Also if someone you know is suicidal and is all of sudden happy, it's actually one of the biggest alarm bells signaling that they are actually going to do it.

Particularly for manic depressives, when they are in their deepest troughs they really can't find the motivation to carry it out, it's when things actually start to look a little brighter that the act goes from being conceptualized to actualized.

As somebody who grew up with Mork and Mindy, and then to see his volume of work develop, I was more than surprised to hear he had died so suddenly and so soon.

At the risk of sounding like an a-hole, somehow I knew this was the way he would choose to go. I know most of you aren't going to understand where I'm coming from when I say it, but it's the truth. Some people are just too brilliant for this world, and they only last a short time. Sometimes only 27 years. He was with us a lot longer, and thankfully left us with a lot to remember him by.

Yep, they are not so much happy as they are elated that all their perceived miseries are about to conclude.
