So I keep finding these dimlets everywhere and decided to see what they were for. Made the books and planning to make the researcher and go from there. I see theres a few machines, not sure how useful they are. Any tips or tricks for this mod?

Tip #1: there is a very extensive in-game manual for the dimension building system. I'd thoroughly recommend browsing through it before/during getting started.

Tip #2: Set yourself up some sort of flat world as early as possible. It makes it so much easier to trundle across looking for dimlets. That is, unless you already have flight, then you can just make a random (probably void-based) dimension and go hog wild.

If you're the kind that can learn easily from videos, Dire just made a three part spotlight on RFTools. The first two videos detail every machine in the mod except anything related to dimension crafting, while the third video goes into detail about the dimension system.

When in doubt, describe a feature by stating the material first, then the feature.

Make a matter receiver and put it in your base. Build a charged porter, charge it up, and keep it in your inventory or a bag or something. Now, anytime you want to go home, just use the charged porter. I like to do this as soon as I can -- it really only takes a few ender pearls and a little power infrastructure. Then I never have to worry about getting lost, or caught out after dark with no sleeping bag.

It also means you don't have to bring a matter transmitter with you every time you create a new dimension using dimlets. Just pop in to your new dimension, have a look around, then come home if you don't like your new world.

I've never used cursed earth for anything, I've seen it mentioned twice today for farming. Guess I need to check that out. I have an attracter obelisk in the end right now and will prob set up a killer joe on it. Or just catch an enderman and put in a spawner. Got too many projects going already and just started playing Horizons.

Definitely interested in this.
