Backstory: A long time ago, I spent a LOT of time making something in Direwolf 1.6.4 pack creative that I later planned to build in one of my FTB survival packs. Today I decided to start building after the model, but I couldn't launch direwolf20 1.6.4 pack. I saved the config and forced update. After putting the config back, I launched the world and saw most of the building was gone because I forgot that Chisel and Carpenter's blocks (which made the bulk of the building) weren't in the Direwolf 1.6.4 pack by default. I thought I still had my backup, but my only backup was on my USB that I gave away, and I forgot to make another backup after that because I haven't been very into FTB lately.

I know how item ID's work, but is there by any chance some kind of item ID restore thingy I could use? I haven't placed anything where the old blocks used to be. I've had problems similar to this that kinda fixed themselves when I put in the missing config/mods

you could use mcedit. it will load all blocks as purple squares then you can change them all to cobble for example. I don't know if it will work if the mod is missing completely or not. I am pretty sure it will only load all vanilla assets and give you a missing texture for any modded assets.
