Well realistically, you can achieve total inventory management automation through AE. In your case, AE might even be more optimal. Instead of throwing away all of your cobble/dirt you may use an ME level emitter to allow you to choose a certain amount to keep in the system and then allow the system to recycle/throw away the rest.
This would mean that your system would auto-replenish your stockpile should you ever require any cobble/dirt. All you'd have to do is:
(a) Attach an export bus to a recycler or an external storage device. In this case you will need to manually pump out the dirt/cobble using a RS engine or an autarchic gate. This will make your system send whatever you need to be recycled/thrown away to the "throw away" system.
(b) Point an ME level emitter towards the export bus and set it to whatever number of cobble/dirt you'd like to keep in your system, then set the signal to "emit if above". Then change the RS signal option on the export bus (top right of the GUI) to "active with signal". This set up will activate when you system detects a volume of cobble/dirt in the storage that exceeds your set amount.
Voila. Every time you require cobble/dirt, simply take it out of the system. The system will automatically replenish your stockpile as it continues mining and once it exceeds your preset amount, it will continue to dump it all away.[DOUBLEPOST=1376988250][/DOUBLEPOST]Adding to point (a), should you choose the external storage option, you will need to pump those contents into a void pipe or something similar.
