Is there a better one? Like mcmmo instead of having to make a new item you use base material. Like diamond for diamond stuff. Of course it is balanced not one full repairs. Still have anvil to keep enchantment if you want to. Also server mod too?
Err, if I understand correctly, what you say that is being part of McMMO is in fact a vanilla thing.
You put your diamond pick in the anvil, you put a diamond, it will give some of the pick's durability back, while it will still have its name and enchants.
As for mods used to repair, I know that turtles can repair, if given the anvil and enchant table as the two upgrades.
Yes, you can repair a diamond pick by combining it with another diamond pick. However, vanilla Minecraft also has had a second system using the anvil and ingredients for a while now.
I just have been so ingrained I haven't paid attention lol[DOUBLEPOST=1366888277][/DOUBLEPOST]For unenchanted items, "unit repair" can easily be more expensive than just repairing a tool in the crafting table. The exception is armor, where you can use less material at the cost of experience levels. Also, the choice between unit repair and sacrifice repair depends very much on the details (how damaged is the target, and the proposed sacrifice?), especially when dealing with diamond items.
the wiki. Unit repair must mean material while sacrifice means actual make new item. Also how can you repair in crafting table?
If you have Twilight Forest installed, you can also use the uncrafting table to repair your pick by placing it in the left hand slot and putting diamonds into the crafting grid.
