Just put a quarry in the right biome, or build an appropriate mystcraft age and quarry that. Either one should get you quite a bit. Though I suppose it depends on what you are using the fertilizer for and how much you really need.

Yea that's the issue, different demand. It's a case of feast or famine depending on need. When you're not running multifarms it SEEMS like it's as common as cobble, but when you're Forestry heavy it's rarity becomes apparent quickly.

Also the large veins generally spawn very high, and most servers don't allow age generation, so quarries aren't the answer.

As was said before Greg tech adds a way to make forestry fertilizer (note I do not mean the IC2 fertilizer as that is different) that works in the multifarms. So if your running mindcrack or ultimate you can get unlimited fertilizer for your farms by going through Gregs easy to automate multi part process.

O_o verification? All the GT stuff mentioned produces ic2 fertilizer.

There's a recipe that produces Forestry fertilizer from saltpeter and...sand? Dirt? Can't remember exactly what else goes into it, but the key component is saltpeter. GregTech gives you a way to get saltpeter from ender pearls (turn them into dust, electrolyze them for potassium and nitrogen, craft those together with compressed air cells in an electric crafting table, repeat).

And it actually produces the blue stuff? I've done a lot of searching wikis and gone through nei and recipes and cheated in every kind available to try, nothing else worked.

Ah that's why, new recipe (I'm not playing 1.1.2 atm). Something learned, ty :)

I'll stick with the bees though, down with GT rabblerabble.

Its been in for a while- I used it in the older version too

If you say so *shrugs* all I can say is I never found that to be the case, and believe me I was desperate for the stuff.

Pointless back & forth is pointless though, we got to the bottom of it with your help, thx again :)

Considering I got literally over a thousand apatite from a single vein (admittedly, using Fortune III pick), I'm not worried about it.

Let's assume the former statement about running through a full stack of fertilizer in two hours is accurate (it isn't, of course, but let's use this as an example).

1,000 apatite, not even bothering with the ash recipe, you are looking at 8,000 fertilizer or 125 stacks.

Now, each stack lasting 2 hours means this is equivelant to 250 hours of constant game play, or ten days and some change.

However, let's look at some actual facts instead of someone's hyperbole

First off, a single piece of fertilizer is equal to 2,000 mU. Now we check this handy chart. Notice that most of the actions cost somewhere between 10 and 30 mU (excepting the cocoa plantation which is entirely unnecessary because you can automate it with a redstone signal and a piston). So that means each piece of fertilizer can process anywhere from 75 and 200 actions. Now multiply that by 8,000.

So yea... apatite will go a long way. You should be able to find another vein long before you are done with the one you have.

Dude whatever, the amount of dick-fencing on this forum is ridiculous. I was the one running my farms, not you, I know how long they lasted, not you. I don't mean to alarm you but not everything in computing works as advertised. 2000mu is just the default. Is it version specific? Was it tweaked by the ftb team differently for different packs? This game doesn't operate in a vacuum.

This was a nice informative polite thread until you flopped into it.

Also, those huge veins are not as common as people who aren't using multifarms think they are.

And of supreme importance, all your numbers are assuming only 1 multifarm.

Love how you think I'm not using multifarms... watch those assumptions, they'll bit you on the umption.

And yes, actually, computing is pretty simple. It's called math. It works out the same each and every time.

I've ran my max-size multifarm block on the first vein of apatite I mined for the past month. And still have plenty of reserves. And, as I pointed out, even if you DID go through it as fast as you said, it would STILL take almost two weeks of actual game-time for you to run dry.

Go take a chill pill and maybe a stiff drink. You sound like you need one.

Oh, interesting. I guess we've all imagined every bug and instance of something not working as advertised in this lovely game we play.[DOUBLEPOST=1369774374][/DOUBLEPOST]

Based on one farm, again.

Well, you can go on your supposition and anecdotal evidence if that is your decision. As for myself? I'll go by the numbers Sengir posted on his wiki.

Mkay, you go by what is supposed to happen. I'll go by what actually happens.

This thread isn't even about consumption, it's about renewal. Consumption is different for everyone, because of variables, that math stuff you mentioned. You're OT and I'm done feeding you.
