EDIT: My bad, tried using the find chunks in NBTExplorer instead, gave me different values for local chunks compared to link in post so used those and it worked. (basically didn't think to add 32 to my negative chunk values)
Tried to follow instructions in http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/how-do-i-regenerate-a-missing-chunk-in-the-server-map.8169/
So I downloaded NBTExplorer, used http://dinnerbone.com/minecraft/tools/coordinates/ to find mcr file and chunks to edit.
So my 2 wacky chunks I want to regenerate are:
1: x -217 z 376 this gives me chunk x -14 z 23 in r.-1.0.mcr
2: x -147 z 267 chunk x -10 z 16 also in r.-1.0.mcr
so I shutdown minecraft go into NBTExplorer open folder for my minecraft world and edit r.-1.0.mcr and delete all values/entries under Chunk [14,23] and Chunk [10,16} and then I save. But whenever I go back into minecraft nothing has changed with the chunks they have not regenerated, they are still unchanged a gaping hole into the void that collects massive spawns of entities that fubars my server. Was up to 6k zombies last night. Any tips on what I'm doing wrong? Sure I can bandaid with /cofh killall command but would prefer to have working chunks.
