Somewhere on the internet
So to make a private modpack I heard that you had to get permissions for the mods that you use. Does this include the need to get permissions for mods already in FTB? Because I really don't think I could do without redpower or thaumcraft.

Many (most?) give blanket permission to the FTB launcher, or are GPL or other shared license. Redpower, however, is one that is neither. And good luck getting in contact.

So ditch Redpower and lean on wireless redstone instead. I've been trying to wean my builds off of Redpower because I just have 0 confidence in the author's continued interest.

Or use a launcher that just lets you host arbitrary modpacks in S3. It is not like ANY of these license terms are actually legally enforceable anyways.
