I have been wondering about how the RF power system became popular because forgive me for saying this but it seemed to come out of nowhere. 1.4.7 and 1.5 saw the dominance of the Minecraft Joule and the Energy Unit and then bam! Suddenly everything ran off Redstone Flux, what is it with RF that makes it such a brilliant power system because frankly I prefer EU.

It has a good API for modders in contrast to the MJ. (don't know it myself. But head this argument many times)
And I think the community likes it because it's easy to understand and use.
The EU system is bloated and still unrealistic in it's mechanic with the different "voltage levels".
The implementation simply lacks logic. (my opinion as someone who knows how real electrical systems work)
The MJ system is designed for on-demand-power-usage without storing it directly,
which makes efficient usage a challange. Some people don't like this.
RF is a pretty straightforward power system. So less hassle. So more acceptance.

You should try electrical age if you want relistic electricity

It's not meant to replicate RL Electricity. It's meant to be an easy API for other modders to work with and to be server friendly.
I wasnt meaning like that Shabza said something about rl electricity so i segested it to him

It's OK.
But my point was not so much that I want realistic electricity.
The point was that the EU system is not realistic even though beeing comparatively complicated.
Without going into details here: If it was realistic or at least had a consistent logic to it, I personally would like it more than then current IC2 system.
When RF was not so popular back then, I liked EU more than anything else. But RF lets me wire up my machines without thinking about whether or not
my stuff blows up because I miscounted the total EU/t in one of my power lines when placing a machine.
Some people like to fiddle around with their power system. I try to avoid this. There is enough to do without this hassle.
