modpack: FTB beta pack A
Me & a friend were on a server run by said friend, we were attempting to set up a quarry powered by a redstone engine tower (as we had done before using buildcraft), however, when we tested the redstone engine tower, none of the engines would begin to move, they simply accumulated internal energy, going from blue->green->yellow->red until redstone power was removed. They also did not transfer power to the quarry. We tested an individual redstone engine, to see if there was something wrong with our setup, however the engines were setup correctly, have a redstone input on the rear of the engine, & a wooden conductive pipe in the front, & a gold connective pipe connected to the stone connective pipe, with the gold-connective pipe connected to the quarry. We tested, & found that redstone engines still had the ability to pump times into/out of chests, so redstone engine's only problem lay in the fact that it would NOT interface with conductive pipe. We tested every other engine included in the FTB beta pack A, and found that all of them operated correctly, pumping items and powering redstone pipe when powered. No lag or error codes where encountered, below are some pictures documenting issue & setup. Please note that quarry was replaced with a refinery in the photos for ease of viewing.

the pictures show (from first to last)

1: Refinery not receiving power from redstone engine tower
2: Picture of redstone tower, all engines green
3: picture of individual engine setup IE: redstone-power >>engine>>wood-conductive-pipe>>gold-conductive-pipe>>refinery
4: picture of combustion engine powering quarry easily, while i was testing combustion engine, it moved (unlike redstone engines connected to conductive pipe)
5: redstone engine tower going yellow. YES, I let this thing warm up before calling it broken, note that none of the engines are moving.
6: Redstone engine tower going red. Yes, the engines accumulated power, but were not moving or outputting power.

Working as intended. =)

Relevant quote:
Redstone Engines will no longer provide power via wooden conductive pipes, i.e. they can no longer power anything they aren't directly facing. Say goodbye to those oddball Let's-power-a-quarry-with-a-bunch-of-redstone-engine systems, among other things.

No worries, it was the issue that finally made me sit down and write that out to tide folks over. =)
