Redpower Help.

I need some help with Redpower 2. I'm going to go right to the point and say I just threw it in and I get this:

I know what you may be thinking, "Why not go and get something else LIKE redpower?" because I really like Redpower. it's very universal in my worlds and that kinetic generator is really cool to have. The circuitry that can be pulled off by those Redstone gates are awesome and since i'm use to Redpower I just want to have it and not have to bother with other like mods.
Maybe to be more helpful i'm working with Unleashed 1.5.2 and this mod pack has been moded by my own mods before. (things like treecapatator to Rei's minimap, Mekanism, ICBM, EnderIO, Traincraft) I also understand that there is a "new" site to complain to but it doesn't exist. I've tried many times to get on it and nothing happens.

You can't put Redpower2 (a 1.4.7 mod) in Unleashed (a 1.5.2 modpack)

Do you see the problem?
If not, a simpler example: you're trying to put the circle in the square. No amount of hitting it will make it work.

Edit: There is no update for Redpower2 beyond 1.4.7.

Then help me figure this out then. How does a Modder take an open source mod and change to work with newer versions of Minecraft? Why try to pound the circle into the square hole when you have others to help you shape the circle piece into a square one?

Redpower2 isn't open sourced.

Because that's illegal. wrong.
It's closed source. Leave it at that. Get over it like everyone else.

Then do it. Don't tell anyone. Don't distribute it. No one cares what you do with your computer. Just don't ask for help doing it.
And certainly don't ask for that help here.

Wow, you don't have to be so cynical about it. I was never planning on distributing it and I've got friends that could help me anyway. I was just hoping for some hospitality, if anything a friendly "Sorry bub, I can't help you but as long as you stay under the radar and keep it on your computer, you should be fine."

I was not being cynical (look it up, it doesn't mean what you think it means).
I was being straightforward and honest. Doing so removes any chance of misunderstanding.

Complication. 17 and having trouble in Language arts. But I was being serious on the whole Be a Tad Nicer thing. I mean being honest is ok but... oh what the hell am I doing. I'm fighting with some random guy over in New York about something I vaguely understand. Fine, I'll take my leave and see what I can do on my own. Nice talking to you I guess.

And I'm generally a nice person. But when you wander into "what you don't know won't hurt you" and say it publicly, I need to be a simple and blunt as possible.

No. I don't want you, or anyone else, disrespecting the mod author by doing so.

On these forums we respect the decisions of mod authors. That is why she is responding that way. If a mod author decides to keep people from making changes to their mod by keeping it closed source then it is their right.

This thread in its current state is a perfect example of several common problems on the forums, and I suggest you do not delete it.

Problem 1. People not knowing that can't add mods to modpacks if the MC version is different.
Problem 2. People not knowing Redpower2 isn't updated or not knowing it's closed source.
Problem 3. People not knowing the policy on closed source mods.
