[This is the start of a sort of RP thing where I am going to try and explain all of blood magic from the point of view of someone learning it there is more to come and I'm sure when it is done it would be fairly long. But here we are most of the T1 stuff]

Red Wool Chronicles

The demons have wiped out the city and continue their rampage elsewhere now. I do not recall how long I have stayed in this hovel but it seems that it is safe to head out now. I will gather what I can and make a break for the outlands to the west as the blood demons seem to be more interested in the Archmage’s tower to the east.

I wish I could say my journey out of the now ruins of my homeland was uneventful. While yes the city was all but abandoned there was demonic patrols and I spent much time lurking from shadow to shadow. But this might have been a blessing. I had the luck if you can call it that to experience these demons power first hand and while I was helpless in his grip I was able to get a bit of an understanding of its workings. Amusing how your impending death can give you a clarity on things. That would be the end of my story if it was not for some passers by that came to my aid and slayed the beast. After all was said and done I noticed the demon had some sort of shattered crystal and quickly recovered it. While it seems flawed and broken it could be a key to more understanding of their power and ultimately allow me to deal with them. I have set up on the edge of a forest and have a small hovel of wood. The crystal sits in a chest while I collect some supplies. I often take it out while resting or over a meal and try to ferret more secrets from it.

It happened while messing with that bloody crystal. I nicked myself with it while turning it over it almost killed me my blood was sucked right out of me into the darn thing. But for a brief moment it came to life and I could feel power flowing through me. But it was indeed to flawed and the fragment I had burned itself out leaving nothing but dust and a longing for more. Maybe if I could find a similar crystal and some how imbibe it I could fashion my own such power source?

I have tried so many things but I think I come to an understanding not only do I need something that is of the right type of crystal but I need another one to focus power into it. I think diamonds will work. If I build an altar with one at its based held in place with gold and a brazier of some sort to hold and essentially burn my offering… Yes I think this would be possible to them infuse a diamond with power.

It worked with a knife I spilled my own blood and after a time the diamond was transformed into a weak sort of focus for my life essence. It does not seem to hold much but I know it is just the first step on a dark path that will make me equal… no it will make me the master of these demons.

I was experimenting with this altar of mine and found I could imbue stone with a bit of power. While not overly useful at first I recalled the demons I have seen all have markings or sigils some on stone slates like what I can craft here. After trying to recreate these on my own it is clear there is more to this than just coping the symbols down.

Ha that is it just like blood is symbolic of life so do other items have symbolic ties. I’ve tried using my weak ord on a slate while I have various items around it. The results have been mixed and some I feel I just don’t have the power for or the slate just can not contain their power so I will have to try them another time. But I have found that simple glass around a slate and imbued by my orb has created a sigil that acts as a window into my power. It allows me to ‘see’ how much power I have stored up and also how much essence is in blood most notably how much sits in my altar while working.

While messing with these slates I found that two of them can be used to cap the sides of some stone and when empowered by my orb can make runic blocks that resonate with my altar. I have placed some in a circle under my altar and can feel there is more power here now. I wonder if there is more to this? Maybe I can find some configuration of these to enhance my altar even more.

I have come to find that I can fashion a sigil with both water and lava much like I did with divination. While costly to me right now I can create both from thin air with only the power of my blood. While the water was easy and just needed some buckets of the stuff lava was another story I almost burned down my home trying to get it to imbue it would get close then explode violently as if the power just could not contained. But I was able to fashion a crystal much like I did my orb with a diamond, some lava, then contain it within some obsidian and glass. This crystal burned with my life essence but held its fire within. I was able to then use this with some more lava and some of that gel from those fiery slimes found in the nether to create the sigil. I think I have come to the limit that can be done with these lesser slates.

Interesting while work with the lava crystals I noted how obsidian reacted with stone while empowered. It created a sort resonance with my pool of power. After some testing a mix of even numbers of stone to obsidian I was able to imbue a sort of stone that hmms with my life power. It is weak and imperfect but I will see what sort of sympathetic rituals I might be able to use this with.

Odd if you place something on top of the imperfect ritual stone some of them do hum with power. Not sure why but a block of black coal summoned an undead that almost killed me. Clearly this is a side effect of its imperfect nature. Water and Lapis both seem to be beneficial creating rain on demand very useful. But I nearly scared myself to death when with only the power of my blood I was able to turn day into night. Clearly there are forces at work here beyond my understanding. But this only makes me wish to learn more.
