It would be good value- if it covered the full cost of the hotel [rather than just a discount].

The problem lies in dealing with London prices for the event (~50% higher than the rest of the UK), theres plenty other venues in the UK that'll provide an equally good event, with equally good transport connections- but without the London pricetag.​

For instance, Gamescom tickets were about 1/10 of this price. Not sure if it's comparable though.

Pax is and 4 days at SDCC is For a con with a hell of a lot less to do than either of those, Minecon sure does cost a lot more. EDIT: Pax Prime is $110, I got the wrong one. For some reason the money doesn't show up in the editor.
