Problem Really low FPS

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Hi! This is my first time using a FTB modpack, and it looks really fun! Except for the minor detail of having 14 fps max with all settings on the lowest and 2 render distance :/
When I open up the pie-chart it states that "tick" slurps up 90% of my performance. Is there a fix for this? I've allocated 12GB of RAM so that shouldn't be the problem.

Thanks in advance!

I run with 8GB dedicated to any FTB modpack so 12 is more than enough. Please ensure your Java is on the current version and try running these custom arguments. See if this makes any difference for you.

-XX:+UseG1GC -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=2147483646 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M -Dfml.queryResult=Confirm -version:1.8+

I will try that in a sec, but the JAVA version I selected is oracle 1.8.0_291 JRE, should I keep this or select the mojang one or just the regular 1.8 JRE? (I'm trying to play the Endeavour pack)

Java version 8_291 is the most up-to-date version of Java. Just make sure it's the 64bit version installed if it is then you're good to go, no need to mess with Java. Just put those arguments above in the FTB App before launching Minecraft and give it a try. If that doesn't work unfortunately I have no other ideas off the top of my head.

Nope, still 2 fps or so :( Thanks for the try though!
