Im very confused as to what that mod even is.
Afaik Reactorcraft is a plugin/extension/... to Rotarycraft.
I was very interested when I first played Horizons to find a new, realistic and even a bit tricky alternative to the old familiars such as IC2 and BC. The forum post didnt exactly help me figure it out, the mod spotlights out there are not of the quality that I prefer when gathering information but there was that very cool handbook to explain the basics and help me out. I ended up not using it much since I simply cant deal with all the noise that doesnt seem to wonna work well with sound mufflers but hey its an interesting concept and idea.
Frankly in Horizons the Reactorcraft world-gen was unbearable and it seems that it has been nerfed quite a bit in Monster. Still though there is all this Reactorcraft ore and flourite that I am finding and Id very much like to get going with it. Where do I go? What do I read and/or watch? Is it fully implemented and functional?
Maybe I am missing the obvious here and Id love for someone to point me in the right direction.
Also what up with the rumor that Ars Magica 2 isnt on Monster cause its too experimental while that mod reminds me strangly of XYcraft days?

tl;dr: How do I Reactorcraft?

I think Ars is still being worked on. I didn't actually realize Reactorcraft was for Rotary. Now I'm even more interested. I believe it's for use in creating steam to run steam engines, but I'm not sure.

The one mod spotlight I saw on youtube, pointed out as such. I haven't been able to find out much more about it though. It would be a nice alternative to using a RC boiler for steam.

Well Reactorcraft is as "early development stage" as it gets. I honestly think that if there is no documentation for it anywhere (most crucial: not even on its own forum post) and it makes up a substantial percentage of the overall world-gen it does not have a place in the flagship title. In the experimental Horizons? Fair enough but this situation smells like the XYcraft thing to me.

There are 2 good tutorials:

The former is a better tutorial, but it is worth watching the latter. Essentially, you craft a Uranium Processor, pump in water then put in uranium and fluorite... to make Uranium Hexaflouride (UF6). Then make an empty canister and right click on the U Processor. This places the UF6 in the canister. Then what you can do is craft an Isotope centrifuge, place the UF6 in it, and apply RotaryCraft power (the U Processor doesn't require power). This separates it into depleted and enriched Uranium. Then you use the enriched uranium to make fuel pellets and place it inside a fuel core (recipes and details in NEI and the tutorials). The core is dangerous though, and will shoot neutrons (blue dots) which can kill you. You can shield the fuel core with any block, the best being 2 layers of concrete on either side. This is where ReactorCraft gets interesting. You can do any design you like as long as the fuel core is shielded and is able to heat up the steam boiler (see video and NEI), in which you pump water. This makes steam which you can pipe using steam lines.

The main difference here between BigReactors, IC2, AtomicScience and ReactorCraft is this part. You make a steam Turbine, and when a block of steam is placed, it floats upward, hitting the steam turbine which spins (exactly how it happens in real life-ish). This spinning creates RotaryCraft Shaft power.

Again, lots more in the tutorials, this was just a basic overview. I am a chemistry student, but I think I used simple enough formulas instead of the real thing, so I hope it made sense. If you want, I can make a full tutorial post on the forums about it. I am also an English student and love to write, so I may get a bit carried away though :p[DOUBLEPOST=1388360629][/DOUBLEPOST]And if you are confused on RotaryCraft, Bevo has brilliant tutorials on it.
