So Demo and me decided to build a fusion reactor on the server we play on, and I set out to extract the multiblock structures from Reikas Video on the fusion reactor. Since we obsessively document things, and I'm making blueprints anyways, I thought I might as well make a digital version for sharing. I only got the Plasma Injector Blueprint done right now, so I'll post that here. As the system comes together I'll most likely be posting more stuff in this thread on the exact system specifications and resource needs.

I'll proably tackle the solenoid next[DOUBLEPOST=1414234652][/DOUBLEPOST]And the solenoid.
i have these images as vector files by the way, so if something is too small and squinty, tell me, i can upload a resized version.

Alright, let's get started on the resource breakdowns.

Alright, let's get started on the resource breakdowns.
Plasma Injectors
Calculations
Most of these blocks are made up from Thermal Insulation Cores, Hysteresis Plates and Ferromagnetic Plates. Adding up the amount of these items required for each component and multiplying with the respective numbers, we get
http://pastebin.com/Fp8yNxKG
- Thermal Insulation Cores : 284
- Hysteresis Plate : 210
- Ferromagnetic Plate : 491
(the above link contains a csv paste of my counts)
Thermal Insulation Cores cost 8 wool and 1 steel
Hysteresis Plates cost 2 iron and 1 steel for 3 plates
Ferromagnetic Plates cost 3 ferromagnetic ingots, which cost 1 steel, 1 iron and 1 lodestone respectively.
So we get
Thermal Insulation Cores
2272 Wool
248 Steel
Hysteresis Plates (divides neatly by 3)
140 Iron
70 Steel
Ferromagnetic Plate (also neatly divides by 3)
491 Iron
491 Steel
491 Lodestone
The induction coils also require an insignificant amount of gold (9 gold wiring, or 15 gold ingots with 1 wiring remaining), which is far dwarfed by the amount of gold neccesairy for the containment pipes.
The Fusion Plasma Injector Machine block also requires 4 containment pipes, but it is assumed that this cost is included in that of the general containment pipes.
adding these up we get
Result
1 Plasma Injector Multiblock takes
- 2272 Wool
- 809 Steel
- 631 Iron
- 491 Lodestone
- some gold and containment pipes (view calc for more)
Hydrogen Preheater
Calculation
Alright, let's get down to the preheater. The recipes are fairly simple, requiring mostly TICs and steel, with some Blast glass and Diamonds thrown in for good measure.
Since they're so simple I won't do a full table for them, but my calculations give me
Breaking down the Thermal Insulation Cores further and adding the material, we get
- 250 Thermal Insulation Core
- 608 Steel Ingot
- 14 Blast Glass
- 8 Diamonds (2 Lenses)
- 4 Iron
- 4 Lodestone
Result
1 Hydrogen Preheater
- 2000 Wool
- 858 Steel
- 14 Blast Glass
- 8 Diamonds
- 4 Iron
- 4 Lodestone
Heat Ray
which is a long list of about every material used in RC ever. There is also an alternate recipe for the power module that uses gold and an eye of ender to make twice as many power modules, but that'd force me to do the BOM for either 2 heat rays or have 0.5 eye of enders in the BOM for a single heat ray.
- Obsidian 9
- Glowstone 4
- Blaze Rods 4
- Nether Star 1
- Redstone 3
- Electrum 3
- Steel 5
- Copper 1
- Sintered Tungsten 1
- Blast Glass 2
- Diamonds 4
THE SOLENOID
Calculations
ResultSo the solenoid is rather complicated, but outside of the permanent magnets, the recipes are not particularily deep or spread out. Adding up all the parts, we get
in addition, making two 16.384 T magnet takes 512 Lodestone, which with 60 16.384 Magnets gives us 15,364 Lodestone for the Central Permanent Magnets. 4.096 T Magnets only take half the amount of Lodestone, but we'll need 84 of them, so we get 10,752 Lodestone. In total the Magnets take
- 1.347 Ferromagnetic Ingot (315 of those as Ferromagnetic Plates)
- 240 Hysteresis Plate
- 59 Steel Ingots
- 34 Gold Wiring
Now ferromagnetic ingots and hysteresis plates are still compound items that can be further broken down.
- 26.112 Lodestone
For 1 Central Solenoid, we need
- 1486 Steel
- 1507 Iron
- 27450 Lodestone
- 51 Gold
