I am currently using the DW20 modpack and I love it to death but would like to add a mod or two that isn't currently in the pack. I was wondering if there is a posted list of mods and the ids used so that if DW20 adds the same mod I won't step on the addition.

Currently I am thinking of adding Extra Bees and the maybe Logisitic Pipes(unofficial port).

I know Mindcrack has Extra Bees should I just take the extra bee config file from that or are config files different per modpack?

Any help would be great.

My end goal is to continue to use the pack and update the pack without the extra mod or two I add causing any issues in the future.

I took a couple of the DW20 configs and ported all the mods to mindcrack, so you should be good there.

As pointed out above, if you want to ensure you don't step on IDs, grab the config file from the Mindcrack or Magic World pack. This "should" make it so your world is portable once the Ultimate Pack comes out.

For anything not in one of the above packs, before adding a new mod, load your world and go into NEI options to have it dump block and item IDs to ensure you are only using open IDs.

I think he wants to know if there is an ID range that will never be used in official ftb packs, so that it would be safe for users/servers adding their own mods without causing conflicts in the future. Afaik that has not been officially answered until now. Correct me, if I'm wrong, I don't watch the streams or irc...

Using the search function (wink@OP) I only found this:

Interesting... Is that an official statement or just one based on currently available IDs? FWIW, I posted this a while back:

http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/thr...ck-item-entity-ids-reserved-for-players.6388/

Hoping we could get official word on both Item and Block IDs. Not sure if we need to worry about entity IDs (I've seen at least one mod developer indicate it doesn't matter if entity IDs overlap).
