Random Snow Chunk?

I wasn't sure exactly where to post this, so move it if it's in the wrong section. So I loaded up my saved map and a chunk of my building is missing. I loaded an older save of this map but the chunk of the building was still gone. The weird part if that the chunk has been replaced by a snow biome, this isn't the first time this has happened. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there possible a way to fix it? How can I prevent this in the future? Thanks.

I've experienced the same, though the other way around. Me and my friend were playing on a LAN world, happily building a nice, huge castle. At some point, I needed more wood, so I went out to the forest to chop down some trees. Then I saw a huge, towering structure some distance away. When I approached it, I discovered that one of the chunks had been replaced by a carbon copy of part of the castle wall. Complete with a part of the ship we had built on the underground lake underneath it and everything. Just wish it had copied the chunk next to it instead, because that one contained our rare metals depot...

It is probably just a corruption. Just see If you can switch to a previous version if not then just rebuild.

Yes, but this has been even without a new version.
