Random freeze after updates to Ultimate 1.1.2

My client freezes randomly between 5 - 10 minutes after starting, I need to alt-tab out to regain my mouse and end the process. Task manager doesn't detect that there's a problem and says the client is still running. I've tried lurking around the forum and doesn't seem like anyone else is getting this issue.

I've tried uninstalling java and reinstalling it.
I've tried uninstalling FTB and reinstalling it.
Tried running the world in singleplayer and running from a server. (freezes in both cases)

ok, its
A: your PC can't handle the mods
B: something in your saved modded world is going out of controls
C: a underlying bug is screwing up your game play.

Things to try
1: Start a less modded game of minecraft. (Game modes other then ultimate)
2: Try removing mods one by one and replacing them. (Remove IC2 then put it back in and remove BC)
3: optifine This mod has more control over graphic settings. install that mod and lower every setting you can to see if your FPS goes up.

A: Been working fine for months, stopped at the 1.1.1/1.1.2 update.
B: Tried going far to unload the chunks which are used by my base.
C: Possibly =/

3: Already tried with it on and off still freezes

Alright quick update, disabling portalgun seems to stop the freezing.

try to narrow down what you are doing with portals and its gun. if you find something odd. bug report it. other then that, thats all the tips i can give you.
