Ram problem, Launcher

A friend of mine wants to change his ram in the options of the launcher in order to have more, his computer has 4Gb ram but he can only have 1Gb ram in the feed the beast launcher, do any of you know how to solve this problem?
Using java 6 64 bits recently updated.
Windows 7 64 bits.

The addressable amount may also have to do with the 32/64 bit nature of the OS and Java version he is using. Can you post that information also?

Hmmm, probably best left to the devs. I would not see an issue unless there is a restriction they have built in to give windows some room. Windows with only 4gb is pretty tight to start with, depending on what else you are using the box for. (I am a developer, but I do not do much java work.) A 64 bit OS with only 4GB to play with is like having a one room house with a huge 4 car garage to park in.
