Edit: Assuming you have tried the slider bar in the options menu and it will not go past 1GB.
You will need the 64bit version of java.
Go here and get the offline version. If you go with your browser from the front page using the 'easy install' buttons it will default to downloading the 32bit version since your browser is 32bit. http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
