I have found that if you use a Force Wrench on a Railcraft tank block the tank will retain its steam indefinitely. After testing further I found out that you can use this to transfer steam from tank to tank if you wrench the bottom middle block. Before TE3 I had no way to automate this. Now I can use the Autonomous Activator to sneak right click with a force wrench and then send it to another activator that places the tile box. Does anyone have any ideas using this system

If two railcraft tanks have identical fluid ids, then by swapping the lower block in this fashion you can indeed move large volumes of liquid instantly. I have been using blood magic teleposers to shuttle around liquidXP and oil and it's fantastic.

I never knew this. Considering I'm moving 60 Million Millibuckets of Lava to a new base, I should definitely give this a shot. Saves me waiting hours for a tesseract to empty the tanks.

Awesome. 60 million mb is a ton. :)
Yep. three 9x9x8 Steel Tanks stacked on top of each other. I actually had to make it in a rush because I was pumping way too much magma out of the Nether.

Ironically, I haven't used it since I got some solar panels fitted, but I plan on using it to power a large room of Magmatic Engines/Geothermal Generators in my new underground bunker.

It is ridiculous to imply that the force wrench is OP. MANY mods off this now and in fact, DC's version is substantially weaker than other effects like the blood magic teleposer.

We're about to double the capacity of tanks in railcraft, btw, to keep them up with power creep. We may do more than double.

And besides, it wasn't really an intended effect anyway

Meh, with tesseracts and ender tanks, the Force Wrench is only a slight convinience considering that you still need to build/rebuild a tank at the new location.[DOUBLEPOST=1386373860][/DOUBLEPOST]TE3's portable tanks needs more upgrade options so I can fit a 9x9x9 steel tank worth of fluid into 1 portable block.

Like Drums from Extra Utilities?[DOUBLEPOST=1386375157][/DOUBLEPOST]
I still consider this an exploit, but hey, that's just me.

For what it's worth, it only works between tanks that both hold the same type of fluid. And quite frankly, you almost NEVER need it. I only did it in my world because I have T4 blood magic and therefore can automate tank splicing. I had the option of doing it with dartcraft but it is in the "dumb tricks" category.

Railcraft tanks in general are way less useful in modern, modded minecraft. Make 2 drums or use openblock tanks. Or ME Fluid drives from ExtraCells.

Like I said, in RR Railcraft tanks are so pointless we're actually gonna have to significantly increase their capacity to make them worthwhile. We tried a 2x change and it still felt pointless, so we're probably going with a 4x increase in capacity. Because heck, you could just make portable tanks with invar and get a more helpful tank!

Oh MAN I love extra cells just for that.

Maybe I should look into drums, it sounds like extra utils has been productive...

I consider Extra Utils to be a title card mod. If you ask me what defines a good modpack, ExUtils support is on that list. It has some arguably OP things (Drums really change the landscape of fluid storage and as far as I know they have 0 downsides) but just the decorative blocks and excellent pipes more than make up for it.
