Quick question about Forestry

Does Forestry require buildcraft installed to run? If so, is there a way to disable like... everything in Buildcraft?

Yes, I believe both Forestry and Railcraft require BC to operate. As for disabling, I don't have a clue. I'm also curious as I'm interested in bees and trees, mostly due Binnie's Mods, but have little interest in the rest of BC's stuff.

They dont need Buildcraft to work.
They have the BC api so it works perfectly fine

I've installed Foresty on it's own in my modpack. It seems to run fine without Buildcraft. Thanks guys!

No you do not. It even includes its own engines as well so you do not need Buildcraft at all.
