I was just wondering if anyone has played with this mod. I have not personally but was noticing its not in alot of the newer packs. Is the mod just really not that good and there is better? I was just curious cause im still looking for some magic mods for my 1.12.2 pack.

I think part of the thing with Roots 2 is that a fair few people played with the original Roots in 1.10 and didn't really get much from it. However, I think I'm right in saying that - much like Embers - its a bit more complete in 1.12 (though Roots was better than Embers in terms of completeness of content even in 1.10) so it may be worth giving it a look! Bear in mind its also still in Beta for 1.12, which may be a compounding factor - its still being worked on, and more content is being added. Its a smaller magic mod than something like Thaumcraft or Blood Magic, which can put some people off, but I figure not all mods need to be massive to have fun content! It has a progression of summoning with a big boss fight that looks fairly cool, so if it doesn't cause you any problems it might be worth a shot.

Yea i put it in and embers and didnt really seem to impact to much. This pack im puttin together startng to get out of hand though. by far the largest pack have put together so far. Still lots of tweaks to do though. So far though the loaded mod count is 216 which is just crazy it has so much though.

You are not kidding, that's quite the list! But yeah you've got a lot of content in there. Crikey!

Yea trying to keep fps to like 130+ only biome i ever have problem with is jungle. Such a fps killer. I mean its not horrible but jungles drop me to like 80fps. This way though when i start building/automating can hopefully keep everything 60+ fps

Embers is a good mod if you are looking for the steampunk aesthetic, but doesn't bring anything new to the modding table.

Roots at least gives you a use for all of those damned flowers. The growth accelerator totems are quite good too.

Too funny. I was also going to say the only bit of Roots2 I ever did use was the growth pillar thing. I just can't get into calculating which doodads go in the mortar to make stuff. I'm done with magic wands. The standing stones are attractive but the root soup tastes like doll hair.
