So I found this wonderful mod and map "Agrarian Skys quest" pack. I love it a lot and its just a lot of fun. It's a great way to learn for a noobie like me. Problem is I played for a few days and got pretty far and then as I was expanding the skyblock more I fell off and died. I lost everything I had on me :( . So I had to just start a new game from scratch again.

I'm not willing to invest more time into this map unless I can auto save somehow. I know you get lives and gain more as you go but you lose everything if you fall off forcing you to just start over again. So unless you die on the platform there no use to keep going.

So my question is...
I know I can make a copy of the save from the%appdata%/roaming/ location and I am able to do that and save the game this way and if needed reload it from my copied save. That's great and all but this is only works if I make a save before I die. I tested it and it dose work and I can reload the world before I died this way but...
Is there not a mod or program I could install that would auto save every 5 min or something for me? I need a way to auto save this without me having to quit to save every time I might do something that would cause me to fall off the skyblock.

I just know there got to be a way to auto save this or something.

Any ideas??

p.s btw I did try to enter other modes on this map and Its locked somehow and I can not change modes to cheat more or anything. If there is a way to do that on this map then that might salve my problem as I could just enter creative mode if I fall off and fly back up :) I know its kinds cheating but it beats losing days and days of progress. I don't like to cheat and would only use it if I fell off due to me forgetting to hold shift on the edge or something dumb. I cant lose weeks and weeks of progress on this map to something dumb.

Well after searching a bit I noticed that the mod "Aroma Backup" is in this pack. it says you can back up with this and load from back up with this on the mod page...
So how do you use this mod? What command do I use to access this mod from in game to make auto backup or something ?

Don't be such a wuss. You didn't need to start over - all your stuff was re-creatable.

That said - If you want to make death somewhat less of an impediment you can set the keepInventory game rule:

/gamerule keepInventory true

The gamerule command might be blocked (cheats off) to turn cheats on anyway from SSP, choose the "Share to Lan" option and on the next screen, enable cheats.

I'm not a wuss. I just don't want to lose mabe weeks worth of play because I derp off the edge or something. I tried the game rule command and it worked or so the game said it was changed. So atleast with that I cant lose all if I go off the edge

You do still need to watch your total death count. The game will ban you if you use up all the lives. That said, even with occasional derps I have come nowhere close to exhausting the 50 odd lives the quest book so far has given me.

Part of the (intentional) challenge of this map is playing carefully: don't carry around valuable loot - when working near edges store everything you can't afford to loose in a chest. Always keep enough stock on hand to rebuild anything you do lose if you die. and... try not to die :p

Oh - and watch out for anything - such as a slab - that isn't full height. shift won't stop you stepping off those into the void.

The "first" thing I do in AgS is build platforms around the island, and then fence it off

TBH the map is hinged around permadeath (despite the copious amount of lives you get).

AS is one of those map packs that restarting over and over again is the norm. Unfortunately this is not good for those who are time poor unfortunately. You are meant to lose progress alot.

One extra tip; To prevent "losing everything" make sure your everything is put in a nice safe chest and only bring things out that you need at the moment.

Then don't derp off edges, AS is not a pack to be derping in. The maps is all about punishing derps no matter how many weeks where set before it.
Save scumming a hardcore pack is like going to the pool but not getting wet, it's a tad pointless.
