question

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

This is not an issue but I was wondering do you need to restart your entire world if you want to add new mods to the modpack? mods that introduce new ores, items, etc.

If you add a mod that adds worldgen, like ores, they will generate in new chunks. If you have generated a lot of chunks you can use for example RFtools to make a new world where the new ores will generate.

There are some mods that offer up a retrogen option in the cofigs. There is also the option of deleting parts of the world, then when they are genned again they will have the new stuff. With evolved their is also the option of new dimensions ,I think as new mystcaft and RFtools dimensions will have the new world gen.

So It just depends on how much you want to keep that world and what all you might be willing to go to to keep it. No matter what though make a backup of the world before loading it with the new mods installed, might be a good idea.
