Hi all,

I've been working with bees for some time now in DW20 1.7.1 and i'm having a little trouble with genetics. I have researched quite a few of the genes now and i'm trying to get fastest production researched. I have isolated that gene on several occasions, but everytime i run it through the sequencer it does not appear in the gene database. Do you have to have every previous production speed before you can sequence the last one or have i just encountered a bug ?

It's been quite difficult to breed and isolate the fastest production gene, but I simply cannot get it into my database, any help please ?

What bee did you get the Fastest speed on? The only one I can find is the Aura Bee which is not from a mod included in the pack. If you have used a different bee I would like to know and I can try this for you.

Just following up to see if anyone else has had this issue ? I have isolated the fastest production gene, but on several attempts to sequence it, it will not go into my gene database.

Same probleme here, I tryed several times to sequence humidity tolerence +3,+4 and temperature tolerence -4 genes, but genes never appeared in my gene database :(

Edit: I'm running minecraft 1.7.10 with modsauce 1.0.1.1 and binnie's mod 2.0 pre 8

I'm doing Binnie's Genetics for the past few days. I also had questions (about larvae) but couldn't get answers here. I don't think too many people are doing bees anymore.

I finally figured out how to make "super bees", but it's not as easy as it used to be (before "Genetics" came along). It's still do-able tho, but I had to do some head-scratching.

I'll bookmark this thread and use it for my future questions (and my answers too, if I can assist anyone).

I haven't had this problem, but I'm just using "fast" production for right now since I've just started to make my custom bees with all the best traits. I did realize Aura Bee is no longer in the modpack (I'm playing Infinity) and was wondering which bee had the best production. I'll look into making a Blizzy bee even tho I already have more than enough Blizz Rods. Def gotta have the best Production trait.

I am gonna get to work making a Blizzy bee, then trying to pull the trait off it and into my Gene Database. I'll report back to let you know if it worked or not for me. Prob will take me a day. The whole "Isolator-Analyzer-Sequencer" thing is even longer and more annoying than it was before Binnie updated his mods, but I still love my bees I guess.

I made a Blizzy Bee and had no problems getting 'Fastest Worker' and 'Longest Life' into my Gene Database. Infinity modpack. I even figured out the whole larvae thing, finally, so I've got my Super Bees and things are moving along quite well now.

I too have had trouble getting Humidity and Temperature (both 5) to stick. I've run them through the sequencer multiple times, with and without making them stronger, and they refuse to show up in my gene database. Other genes don't seem to be giving me any problems.

The OP asked if it had to add the genes in order, but I've got Humidity (Both 2), without Humidity (Both 1).

Do you mean "Both 3"? You said "both 5" and I never heard of that, nor would you need such a thing LOL. "Both 3" doesn't matter for humidity (there's only 5 humidity zones so Both 2 covers them all), and you can run nether biome bees in a normal biome using one Alveary heater and 10 RF/t to power it if the bee has Both 2 for temperature. Both 3 is a nice convenience but not really terribly necessary. I made Doctoral Bee but it was one of the last bees I made. I never had any problems with genes going into my Database when I played Infinity. You don't need to add the genes in any order.

Edit: If you built your base in the Nether, then Both 3 for Temperature trait would be hugely important. So I guess I shouldn't assume anything. :D

I mean Both 5. It is obtained easily by using an acclimatiser. Need is irrelevant.. it's a game afterall.
