I just spent a ton of resources building an Ultimate Lappack and it's doing nothing. How do I charge my stuff? I'm wearing it and nothing charges.

Lapppack can be charged in a MFE or MFSU or in a Charging Bench. Once charged, it will give other Electrical Items power. Sometimes EMPTY electrical tools wont use energy from lappack if they are completely emptied out, so put them in mfe, mfsu or charging bench for a second, and they will continue working on a lappack power.

Only the Advanced Electric Jetpack was drained, but the Mining Laser had half a charge still.

the laps packs and other backpack only cahrge you tools when you perform an action with them, eg. the drill charge from the pack when it breaks a block., Hitting a block won't do. The Laser should charge when you fire it, if not fire it at a block and see if that works.

Hmmm, that is strange. It is to my understanding that the lappack can only charge things in your inventory, and it must be worn. Are you wearing it on your chest armour slot?

As for empty items, it actually will auto-charge the empty item after one use. i.e If you have an empty mining drill, use it once (as a shitty non-fast tool) and it should charge to full after that. This is what I remember reading on lappacks, EU-tools and related items/issues.

Don't have the Quantum Suit yet, but I figured it out when I used the mining laser with the lap pack worn. Just wish it would have charged the Jetpack too.

Is there anything I can carry around that would help me charge my jetpack in the Nether that I don't have to wear?

Nope. Best way would be to just upgrade to an advanced electric jetpack...it is a jetpack and lappack combined. http://ftbwiki.org/Advanced_Electric_Jetpack

Already have that, but can't charge it in the Nether.

You could setup an energy generation system using engines, etc in the nether. Or carry around an MFE and an energy tesseract hooked to your overworld power. Plop them down to recharge, pull them up when done.

If you already have the Adv. Electric, you really shouldn't need to charge it, it holds a good amount of charge. Just make sure you start with a full charge. The only thing you could carry to charge it would be an MFSU and lapotron crystal.

If his goal is a gravi or q suite he might be better not upgrading to the adv electric jetpack. He will need the lappack pack to make it.
By the time someone is looking to make a Gravi or Quantum, they can easily afford to make another lappack. It's dirt cheap comparatively.

My goal is to get the Quantum Suit, but it's in the near future. Adv. Electric Jetpack gets drained fast if I use the Mining Laser. Will have to do one of the suggestions given. But does the Quantum Suit recharge itself? Does it charge tools used?

If you are running on a 1.5.2 pack, it is possible to use a force wrench on a charged MFE or MFSU, which will retain it's data (i.e. charge), and can be placed in the world. This is (as far as I know) the easiest way of charging on the move. There are other systems (involving ender pouches and other charging methods), but the MFE/MFSU way is probably easier.

No. The GraviChestPlate does.

It does not charge itself, it does charge tools though.

You could make a solar helmet and use that I guess. Using the mining laser in the nether is where you are going wrong :). Make some electric tools, and only use the mining laser set to low-focus mode to mine ores or other items that are harder to break. Everything else in the nether breaks very quickly with an advanced diamond drill...and it uses a LOT less power than a mining laser.

Unless you go on ridiculously long expeditions and use the mining laser exclusively, the advanced nano suit shouldn't run out that quickly.

That being said, (though I have never done this myself), you could always have two nano suits in rotation. One that is charged and ready, the other is the one you are currently wearing. If you have an ender pouch that sends items back from your expeditions, allowing you to stay in the field for longer, you could simply throw your empty gear in there and have your AE system automatically place them into MFSUs. They would have to be inserted from the bottom and extracted from the top.

To retrieve the charged pieces, have an enderchest attached to a storage bus precisely preformatted to fully charged nano suit pieces.
