Question about Glass.

What glass is better to use to withstand the random lightning strikes from Thaumcraft: Reinforced or Hardened Glass?

Trying to make a room open to the sky.

Wouldn't regular glass do just fine? I've been using it for a long while now, and nothing bad has ever happened.
Although, if I had to choose, I would go with Thaumcraft glass (forgot what it was called) since it just looks sexy imo

No, regular glass breaks when struck by lightning. Found that out the hard way when all my pigs got turned into Zombie Pigmen after a lightning strike and their pen was shielded by glass.

My guess it that any mod glass should work.

Yeah, just go with Hardened I guess, or Thaumcraft glass (warded I think?) just to be sure.

Forgive me for this, but what random lightning strikes? I've never run across this issue

Thaumcraft: if the flux is too high, it generates either Wisps or random Weather Anomalies (Lightning).

Had Lightning strike when there wasn't any rain.

Would Clear Glass work? That would be leagues cheaper and one hell of a lot better looking.

As far as I understand it, Thaumcraft lightning isn't actually lightning
It doesn't set things on fire for one.

So I would imagine your glass roof would be ok to have, but you may still get struck by lightning regardless if you're under it or not (It is an anomaly after all)

The lightning strikes things regardless of how many layers of shielding you have IIRC
