Trying to build one and I ran into a problem: How do I recharge the condensators? The Reactor Coolant Injectors have been removed, so I don't know what to use to recharge them.
Maybe it was my video? Hah! What you're most likely watching is someone using an earlier version of IC2, or a pack that includes the reactor coolant injector, which makes it easy to recharge the condensators with lapis or redstone. These days you'll have to be more creative in your reactor designs, or use components that do not consume massive amounts of valuable resources, which Omicron already covered...and is the best solution.
If you're hell bent on using condensators than you might want to try out some cross-mod solutions like Computercraft, Thaumcraft, and perhaps Project Red to recharge them automatically.
Breeders are easy to build. You basically surround an uranium cell with four depleted cells, add a cooling system able to dissipate exactly as much heat as that generates, and optionally add a stack of heating cells that keeps the temperature up even when the breeding finishes or the uranium cell expires. Then you spam heat capacity plating in every slot remaining. Something like this: http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.blueyo...qacnpdh0qew91r8v9uirzrfnvy94bb83wcvumm12d7fcx (note how there are 64 heating cells, you can see it with a mouseover) This design will keep itself permanently at 64,000 heat without requiring any player interaction, never going above or below it for more than a few points.
How do you replenish everything? The video I saw used Lapis.
Can you post that picture somewhere else? I can't view it.
Of course. My setup above pops out something like 150 or more cells every cycle. Man I'm on my phone so you'll have to put in the numbers yourself. I think before I quit playing on that server I had my breeder outputting absolute max safe heat before melting blocks. Something like 73,400 stable or something. Check into it! The design for the breeder was in the second imgur link.Making a breeder reactor to produce Uranium Cells, not to make energy.
