What can I do to prevent Passive Mana Generating Plants from decaying? In 1.7.10, the enchanted Soil did this and now it doesn't.

As far as I know you cannot. Decaying passive is written into the mod.

If you can disable that it would be in the configuration file.

On sf3 though all you need is a 3x3 of coal seed plants crafted to coal then sent to a hopper pointed at an open crate in the middle of a 5x5 of endo flames. Before you j ow it you will have a full pool.

I believe the endo flames only requires pettals in sf3 so that and some of the coal you are sieveing out.

As mentioned above, endoflames are the popular choice for early game. Given any woodfarm input and simple redstone signalling capabilities, they can be fully automated.

There's a block in Botania...I believe called the Crate...which acts as a dropper and can be useful for this. There's also tons of youtube videos demonstrating how to automate it.

A somewhat more fun mana farm (for me) is combining a woodfarm with Munchdews, but I find it more complicated to set up.

A munchdew farm though needs a second tree farm to support it though to keep it in saplings.

I usually have a munchdew or 2 in the middle of a 9x9 farm with a rf tools builder set to only mine wood, leaves the leaf blocks for the munch to clear out

I've never tried the RFTools builder for tree farming, that's a nice way to do it.

The other nice thing about a munchdew farm is technically it also lends itself to an endoflames farm. Except honestly nobody needs that much mana.
