Is it possible to have a Crafting Monitor linked to the Network? I foresee the use of a lot of cabling if that's impossible.

Yes any AE can & in most cases should be linked to the network, but remember as the network grows in size so does its power requirements & its can get big very big, atm I use 3 AE networks one for main sort/smelt/craft, one for bees/comb & one for serum auto filler.

I don't think you understand what I meant. I'd like to use a crafting monitor wirelessly with no cables attaching it to the network. Is that possible?

yes and no, you don't have to use cable to connect them but you do require a ME controller, and a crafting table. You may also need a ME drive (also a chest) for the materials but i haven't tested that. Also some power to run it...

you cant have a crafting monitor wireless in what you want, you need to have it right next to other ME devices for the network.

explaining it better would help a lot.

Use a quantum thingy for long distance wireless AE links. The only other way is cables.

He still needs cables running from the Quantum Array to the crafting monitor, I think he was trying to wirelessly just plop it down and have it monitor the network.

Sorry for not being clear enough, lack of sleep does that to a person.

Pros and Cons of being a insomniac: Pro: can play Minecraft 24 Hours a Day; Con: can't sleep, massive headache, get blown up by creepers because I mistake them for short mobile trees.

So, can't use some sort of wireless device on the monitor. And the Thingy looks like something out of the Twilight Zone, or some sort of Goa'uld Technology.

kinda looks like an advanced radar dish of some sort. It feels really good as an antenna for your base.

1) Wait for Algo to add Wireless terminals (on the todo list)

2) QBridge

3) Just run miles of cables

Can that thing span the dimensions? Can it broadcast to the Nether, Twilight Forest, et al?

Yes, but I found a cheaper solution is to use an LP network to pull from an interface into an ender chest. Set up with a remote orderer and ender pouch, you can get access to your entire network from anywhere. Use a second chest to drop things into the network, so you don't have to race the import method.

Yep. I have ME-cabling run throughout my base. My base is inside of a mountain with a biofarm located about 100 blocks outside, floating in mid-air. Aside from the costs of running cabling everywhere, this is the main advantage of AE. Though this is technically achievable with LP, the advantage is that you can attach crafting monitors, etc. anywhere you want. You can also use the energy-share block to form subnets wherever your main AE net exists.

I meant as a method of bridging dimensions.

I use it like a remote crafting monitor, looking to see what's missing as it's trying to craft. Though a sufficiently capable programmer might be able to use Computer Craft and Terminal Glasses to simulate a wireless crafting monitor.
