Hey everyone.

What are your strategies in dealing with machines that can and will destroy blocks despite the player not actually having the permissions to do so?

I could technically prohibit all block destruction, but I want to make a faction server where griefing is possible to an extent. However, Quarries, Turtles etc. completely bypass any protection that does not flat out prevent any modification of the blocks. Portable mining Items such as Lasers and Wand of excavation are also a problem.

Does anyone know a way I can prevent griefing with quarries without completely disabling them?

Thanks!

Yeah, I found that Patch on the MCPC site, it doesn't seem very up to date, though. Almost looks like one has to write his own patches for things to work.

BuildCraft and ComputerCraft do not have OP status. They don't even exist, apparently. That is my problem: I know they are supposed to use fake users, and I should be able to control those. But they just don't. There are no fake users, and no corresponding options in the configs.
