I don't think that would matter though, pretty sure Buildcraft pumps and pipes should be able to handle anything as long as it's liquid.

sin't there a wooden pipe equivalent to the waterproof pipes that's necessary

Negative, pumps can connect directly to any waterproof pipe without the need for a wooden one, you'd only need the wooden pipe to pump liquids from a tank into an engine or something similar.

Ok, it makes sense that they can auto-eject because they require the power to pump already; I personally use fluiducts from TE primarilly so not too familiar with BC waterproof pipes.

Yeah, Buildcraft was my first mod, followed shortly by IC2 to handle the excessive amounts of dirt and cobble from my quarry, and it's still my go to mod for all my piping needs, I don't know if other pipes are faster or easier or whatever, way I figure it if it's not broke don't fix it.

Try and test it by placing a glass tank right next to the pump. It should be able to output directly to the tank. If not then something is wrong.
And are you sure there is actually any oil left?

You sure you made a Pump and not a Mining well?

Have the pump actually given any oil at all? If you can try and go down the well and see if there is actually any oil downthere.

No idea then. Try and break the pump and place it again. Not sure what else to suggest.
Make sure you didn't place anything(like a torch) in the well.

Nah because it will block the pipe from the pump from going down :p
