I designed my own little mobile lava pump platform and so far it works wonderfully, however I seem to be having a few problems with the pumps.

Seems only 1 actually seems to move down and continue to pump as the lava drops, while the others seem to just hang there. Here's a pic.

I think its related to the flow mechanics. For whatever reason, my experience has led me to believe having more than one pump inside of the pumping radius, eventually, only one will be running. I've had the same thing happen when pumping water out of a underwater base I built once.

Well, I set up a pump station before which wasn't mobile and everytime I checked it, it seemed to be all even. Could be that they lowered after the 1 was done, though.

Anything I can do to fix this? maybe space them out more or something?

Maybe run 4, 1 pump platforms in the cardinal directions(N, S, E, W). If I remember correctly buildcraft pumps have a huge range and you will have a problem as long as they are close together.

The only way I could get multiple pumps working reliably, was to space them outside each others pump radius. I can't recall what the number value is, but it should be visibly noticeable and you can count it out from the center.

There may be other ways, or some special way to set them up to work, but this was how I was able to do it. I'd love to hear if there is an easy fix myself!

Really? Like I said, I tried this before just a non-mobile version and it seemed to work fine. The only problem i'm seeing is the tubes don't seem to actually drop once the lava does.

Also, placing them outside of each others radius would make my mobile platform way too bulky.

I didn't have mobile platforms, mine were stationary. My last attempt was on my private Mindcrack 8.2 server, pumping water from an underwater base. They'd both run for a while, but eventually one would stop dropping down. I could break and re-place it, then it'd work for a while, then one would stop again.
