What is Project Silver Neptune?
A cooperative project of FTB Admins that work to bring together all the best features FTB has to offer. Sharing and testing a server build to benefit everyone who works on the project.
A little about myself. I was previously working on my own server. Objective Mincraft MMO based on Tekkit and Bukkit mods. Combining all the best features of both together. I worked for two months combining maps with MCedit and adding and testing bullit plugins.
Then FTB happened and my gaming portal started their own server. After several attempts they settled on a modpack and stand alone FTB server. Which has lasted seven months. Great folks to play with really great peeps so to speak. The only failing was to much to fast. Everything made to easy and too cheap.
Fast forward to today. I am looking to do a server again. My ambitions are great. I believe if we pool our resources together and share maps we make and testing and making a FTB server we all can use. Combining all the best in FTB and server side mods to boot. MCMMO and whatever compliments it etc. Make a server with settings against griefing that compliment server stability.
Minecrafts greatest weakness is its change. No permenance! I want us to pick one FTB modpack to work from. Something very stable. Add as many server side mods to it as possible that work together in harmony. Beta test the hell out of it. Then make it available to all who contribute to the project. So you can use the server and subtract whatever you wish and make your own iteration of Minecraft to suit your server needs. Project members would make maps and adventures to download. We could share a theme or storyline or just make random themes as we go. Make NPCs with adventures to do. Settings to increase creatures powers and drops. Where each member can use whatever parts they choose.
This would be Project Silver Neptune.
Each of us alone could make a great server. Together we could acomplish wonders with adventures and maps to blow peoples minds. We take all of the best of Minecraft and make if available, stable and usable. We would need to all agree to work with just one version of MC and one server modpack. Each of us could perfect a different aspect of the settings or what have you.
Each of use working alone can make great servers. Working together we could make a server build wth resources to build a server that would blow peoples minds and keep your players interested for at least a year or longer!
