Title Problems with java

Details of the issue The problem I am having is that whenever I try to connect to a server this pops up; "Internal exception: java.lang.NullPointerException". I've got no idea why and it has been doing that since today morning. I've tried a lot of different options from reinstalling to clearing caches to resetting registries to no avail.
