So I'm playing FTB unleashed with my friends on version 1.5.2 and for some insanely strange reason no matter how much coal and soul sand I shove in a furnace to cook for the vile dust it's not working. Is this happening to anyone else? Can anyone lend me a hand and help me fix this please?

The method of creating soulshards have changed in 1.5 to no longer require vile dust, soul forge etc. Have a look at this link instead to see how its done now:
