Problem with launcher

Hi, everyone i have a problem with my launcher and i cant seem to find the cause of it so im posting here to maybe find help getting the launcher working.

It downloads all the files but after that the launcher just shuts down.

Have you tried using the .jar/.exe version, the other version can possibly work instead. Also I'd post your OS and Java version so the people who know what their talking about (not me!) get the info they need.

well i'm using win7 and i'm using the most recent java (Version 7 Update 9).
and yes i have downloaded both versions jar and exe.

What anti-virus do you use? You could try disabling it when you download the mod-pack you want. Then re-enable it when it's downloaded.

okay after sitting trying to resolve it for like two hours i deleted the cfg files from %appdata% and it fixed the problem
