Problem with ForgeEssentials

The actual owner of a rented ftb server and myself are having issues with all of the forge essentials commands, we are unsure of how to change the permissions out of game, and in-game the permissions "You do not have permissions to use that command."
Whats a fix guys ? been working on this for a couple days q.q

I would suggest asking on the forgeessentials thread since it's not included in any of the modpacks by default. You could also try the server tech support section.
