Private Modpack

Is there a way to add a private modpack for my server?

I am not aware of how to submit a pack
but the first step is getting permissions from the mod author
some that are in ftb packs have given blanket permissions for everything distributed through the launcher

I hopethere is a list of modders you dont need to ask or else noone will ever be abe to make a pack

Other mods will on there minecraft fourms post will say something like "you have permission to use in private packs"

All i want to do is add twilight forest and hardcore enderdragon to the d20 pack so it shouldnt be to hard

Majority of people just want to take the current packs out there right now and remove/add a few mods. But knowing all the overzealous mod makers that are obsessed about ownership and public distribution so they can gain a small amount of money through ads, they will make it damn near impossible to use their mods either by not giving permission to everyone, or by ignoring requests completely. This feature will probably be a complete pain in my (everyone's) ***.

The exact point I tried to get across to the people in charge of the modpacks here, luckily they were right about everything. [/sarcasm]

I think anything in any ftb modpack should automatically be allowed in the mod pack. any
Mods out side should need permission but it will bever happen.

why would you want to add your server to the private mod pack list through FTB in the first place? You can distribute the client and config files to any member of your server whether FTB or custom. FTB only makes it easier to get the mods in one location. There is no reason to go through the hassle of getting permissions from each dev to only have 10 people on your server. even if it was 100 people on your server, you can distribute the client and config to registered members of your server, as long as it is not a publicly available download (where anyone can download it) and only for registered members.
