I finally got enough Ender pearls to make one, and I'm having buyers remorse at this point. Just wondering if I'm doing it wrong. Up to now I have been using IC jetpack and swapping it for armor when I need it. With the PS jetpack, I'm having serious issues with a couple things.

Landing/descending control is one thing. Overview: It sucks balls. I have the flight control module and I can't find any noticeable change in the setting and the sudden drop if I look down is extremely frustrating and dangerous. The only way to avoid this is to ascend/hover, so basically there is no way to smoothly change altitude while flying forward. I even tried glider wings, which didn't do anything either.

Then there's the power consumption. Seriously, wtf? The jetpack is constantly on even while standing still, and I can't find a key to turn it off, and even if I did, that sucks Balls too because that means I have to constantly try to turn it on and off. So if I land during a fight and run out of power I can't fly out of it. At that point the extra armor value of the torso loses it's advantage and I'm better off with a jetpack that stays fully charged and is there when i need it.

And did I mention it flies slooooooooowwwwwwww?

Anyway, if I'm missing something I will happily accept being corrected and/or noob slapped. Otherwise, this mod is a bust and I'm moving on to something else as soon as possible, like IC Iridium or Rotarycraft bedrock armor.

Thanks for any help or advice as always. :)

- Turn the thrust up to maximum, dial back on other things that weigh you down.
- Make sure you have flight control, sprint AND swim boost (oddly i find this helps smooth horizontal <-> vertical transitions in movement).
- Push K to open up the menu and you can bind whatever key you like to the jetpack (although the game forgets this when you quit so you need to do it each time)

Swim boost? really? smh.

And that key binding is ridiculous.

The poor performance and voracious power consumption does not justify the cost at all. I just realized that it drained my Tinkers power hammer and my IC jetpack.

Draining power when you're not even flying because you can't turn it off because you don't have a hot key linked, or because you didn't have time to shut it off, or having to even perform that step makes this mod seriously poorly conceived and executed.

Having to even perform the on/off for the jetpack would have been enough to deter me. No reason there should be an extra step to operate the jetpack.

Not only that, but I was just informed I need the jetboot mod also, another 16 Ender Pearls. Like I'm stupid enough to throw good Ender Pearls after bad. :/

And having to dial back the other mods, which are the ONLY advantage this armor mod has to start with, is just mind numbingly retarded at best.

The ONLY thing I like about this mod is that it charges my jetpack and hammer and can sprint fast.

Jetpack=expensive joke

Signed,
Wish I had never ever purchased the jetpack/hate this mod.

PS, I hope this thread serves to warn others of the serious problems with this modpacks jetpack

It isnt the mod. It is you, that havent configured it properly. The K key binds are so easy to use and you can allocate multiple things for 1 which is the best. Second the verticality on the flight control as others have said must be turned to 0 in most cases, unless you wanna descend when you look down.

So, it doesn't drain power rapidly when not flying if you don't turn it off, or can't because you are engaged?
- Install a bigger battery.
It doesn't drain power from other tools/powered items in inventory?
- As above.
It doesn't require rebinding keys every time you enter a game?
- Use keys that are not already bind (not red in the MPS window)

I personally have one elite battery on my chest piece and pretty much every over add on maxed out including flight. With the jet pack fly extremely quickly. It IS something you are or are not doing.

even though i'm thinking about saying something reasonable, i feel like it would more appropriate to say something rude and call it a day.
but i'm not gonna, cuz op not even worth that.
And now i ralize that I should have dona that instead of mixing me in a worth less discussion, there is always someone to teach you something out there.. Thanks man.
you're welcome.[DOUBLEPOST=1395947814][/DOUBLEPOST]now i even don't need to say something rude, i can just quote OP to himself:

Just want to point out:
It is NEVER appropriate to "say something rude". Such activity falls under the banner of "flaming" and "trolling", and WILL result in warning points. Do Not Do This. Ever.
Additionally, advocating the disregard of forum rules is, itself, against the rules (in case that isn't clear).
