Summary of the problem Power Outage Has Stopped My Game From Loading

Pack Version 3.0.8

What is the bug? Power went out around my house last night while I was playing.

Turned on the game.
Loading...
Loading... (stuck on screen)
Force Quit... Crash Report.

Please if someone is out there who understands this stuff, this game is my golden source of relaxation and entertainment.

I greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

Mod & Version I don't believe any one mod to be responsible.

Is it repeatable? Yes...

It's still stuck on loading screen.

Waiting for the next crash report, if I don't have to force close the program.

... So here's what I've done so far.
Uninstalled and reinstalled JAVA.
Uninstalled and reinstalled CURSE.
Attempted to load backup save files.

Even my other testing world is freezing on the loading screen.

I'll keep updating as I test more things.

Known Fix Victory is mine!

I wish I could copy the link to the post, as it was in this forum I think, but there is a solution...

Deleting the ISLAND.JSON file, which was blank, solved the issue. (I really don't know what this does, and hope the rest of my world is okay, but so far so good!)

Yes I can select my single player world save, but that's the loading screen it gets stuck on.

So the game loading is fine. Sounds like your best bet is locate the backup and restore that. I hope you have one. But if I remember correctly SkyFactory should be using FTBU for the backups. See if there is one and use it.

I had this very same thing happen and the problem was the Island.json file was derped, so I grabbed another copy (backup doesn't back up that file afaik) dropped it in place and was fine after that.

Loading any save file, including backups, still caused it to hang on the loading screen. I really don't know what that islands.json file is, but removing it seems to have worked.
