His post about it here. - The following details are quoted directly from him.
That is MFR RedNet cable. Features include:A future version will provide an API for machines to directly connect to all 16 "subnets" at once, allowing complex interactions (MFR will be making use of this, and a few other big modders have expressed an interest).
- 16 individual cables running in each block, with connection selectable on a per-face basis.
- Preserves analog redstone charge level (minus one level penalty at the entrance)
- Output is the highest input value
- No visual updates on the cable itself, reducing network traffic on large installations to near zero
- Updates are done by memorizing the list of nodes, significantly reducing CPU load on large installations
This will be included as part of MFR, as the upcoming logic system (no ETA yet, but this was started and completed in four days) will require some existing infrastructure.
Feel free to leave comments and/or slackjawed stares below. This will go into the betas at some point by tomorrow, reconciling this branch is gonna be a bit harder than normal because emy went and did a bunch of very nice work on the rest of MFR while I was getting this to work.
Enjoy!
