Possible bug in portal gun?

I found a cheat you can do with the portal gun. It may or may not be intended. If you grab a block with a portal gun and place the block on top of a torch, the block will break and drop as an item. You can use this to obtain ore blocks, grass blocks, and even mob spawners (though they will always drop as a pig spawner). You can also use it to break industrialcraft machines at a 100% success rate without the need for any kind of wrench. Has anyone else discovered this?

edit: To answer your question - No, i didn't know this ... Mhm, curious, I wonder if it's intended. Doubt it, however.

This has been a known "feature" for quite some time.

Gravity Gun also does this. People tend to use it for making super-fast T5 shards and for silktouching Iridium in a cheaty way.
