Portal Gun/Ultimate pack freeze

It would appear after I converted my server to the Ultimate Pack, that I cannot go near, be near, or have anything Portal Gun related in my inventory.

Everyone else on the server has no issues with this, only myself. I cannot seem to find anything online that helps. If anyone knows something I do not, it would be appreciated.

I am using YogCraft, but I am having the same problem. The first time that I created my portal gun and equipped it, the game froze and I had to force-quit Minecraft. Every time that I try to connect to my server the game freezes again because the portal gun is still equipped. I've found a few other threads where people have reported a similar issue, including:

In the first thread, the temporary fix is to remove the Integrated Sound Mod from the mod pack. This does not fix my issue.

I tried that, did not work. I just deleted both my Mindcrack folder, and the Ultimate folder, and now it works. :eek: Not sure if you have done that as well, but it just worked for me. Thank you for the reply and help.

Since other threads have suggested that it has something to do with the sounds, I tried changing the name of the Portal Gun sound folder in "/minecraft/resources/portalgun/sound". That worked and let me log in and I can successfully use my portal gun. Weird.

Fellas,
I believe it has something to do with the auto download of /minecraft/resources/protalgun/sound/portalgun/* files since looking at the files they are all 7k in size and contain roughly the same
from afp_launch.ogg

Can someone mind relaying this to whomever is in charge of this behavior?

I had this same issue, I downloaded and installed ftb/direwolf20 three times. I have completely fixed it by having my gf send me her minecraft/resrouces/portalgun folder. I think the above poster is correct, there is a corrupt version either in the original dl or an auto download that some people are encountering.

it is auto download, watched it dl the files. Just hit up the portal gun project site, scroll down the page past the downloads and find the sound pack.
Download that manually and extract over the bad sounds.
